Background
THIS trip is actually my dad's business trip,but he took me with him because 1.i'm on a holiday 2.the ticket is CHEAP
Fare /Price
...was surprisingly cheap, just imagine -only IDR 800.000 with return ticket included!!
Foods served
was nice, altough the food in the departing leg was (for me) better compared to the trip back to indonesia
menu :
depart : Fish rattatouile with grilled potato,salad,coconut mousse,fish crackers,breads,and selected drinks
arrival : rice with stir fried beef,orange mousse,and the rest....is the same
also, a welcoming drink was given in both flight - a very nice touch :D :D
unfortunately, despite the nice taste, the food presentation (the appearance)still needs some improvement - important, because it determines the first impression of it (i remember opening the food tray given and said...."will this one be good?")
Seats
despite their generous seat pitches, the..err..semi-bolster type of the headrest is way uncomfortable, also, the seat cushion is too hard, and u cant recline the seat so much - thank goodness it was only a 4.30 hours flight...cant imagine if i got to take 10 hours or more trip with this kind of seat...
In-Flight Entertainment System
this, in fact, is the first time i had a PTV (personal TV)inside my flight...so...i was really excited trying this brand new PTV :D :D overall it was great, great range of movies,games,and music were available...unfortunately, the screen and the processor was not responsive and the headsets were NOT noise canceling (fortunately, the RR trent 700 engine of this airbus a330 was not that noisy :p)
Cabin
clean,wide (of course...) and the 2-4-2 seating arrangement gave me more room to walk across the aisle (and easy evacuation...),the colors and atmosphere was almost perfect....
Cabin Crew
was OUTSTANDING! actually i had a chance to speak with the captain (yes, the CAPTAIN) and also, my dad and i had a conversation (a chit-caht to be precise...) in both flight with the chef purser - he was charm and friendly :D :D and also a good person to spend some boring flight time with....
at the end (and the beginning) of our flight, all FA's will gather near the exit and greet every single passenger...:D :D
The Aircraft
was also flawless, it was the brand-new A330-200. the engine - Rolls royce Trent 700 series - was sooooooo smooth! :D :D it was so smooth, that the noise level in the cabin even made me fell asleep XD. but during landing, the aircraft's reverse thruster was (surprisingly...) NoisyGround Crew
was nothing special really (i'm not trying to say that they weren't good, but...there was nothing good or bad, just like an average ground crew...)
The Flight
we had some turbulence, and storms, AND LIGHTNING DURING OUR TAKE OFF!! but the rest was all flawless...but on both trips, the landing was rough (due to some crosswinds i suppose...)
Overall
this flight is currenty my BEST FLIGHT EVER - this is the first time i fly with new-refurbished garuda, the first time i went outside ASEAN, and also the first time i fly with an wide - body airliner
service was awesome, the foods was great...I'm looking forward to Fly again with garuda indonesia in the future ;D
Personal rating : 4 STAR **** (it would be 5 star only if the seats are better and the PTV was more responsive. Garuda also need to make some improvement in food presentation.
